| F. R. Taylor & Co. of Baltimore, MD registered the words "TAYLOR'S VEGETABLE HAIR RENEWER" as a trademark for a "Preparation for the Hair" in 1876. The label shown was included with the trademark Petition as an example of how the trademark would be used. They indicated that they had just started using this brand name in 1876, but the symbols they used indicated that they were in business since 1871. The only other things I could read from the label were: "The greatest restorative of the age.," "Keeps the hair from falling out.," and "Restores Gray Hair to its Original Color."
