Horace E. Swan was a Manufacturer of Perfumery in Fall River, Mass. from 1850 until 1861. His business was at 12 Bank Street. It is likely that he started his business several years earlier, but the City Directories for that city only started in 1853. There was also a product called H.E. Swan's Jenny Lind Hair Gloss. It was listed in Kovel's Bottle Price List (7th Edition), and described as a 3" clear rectangular bottle. Putnam claimed that a product called Jenny Lind Hair Gloss was advertised in 1849. An 1850 ad talked about Swan's Hair Preservative, but this was most likely the Canitian.
