| Elias S. Russell was a Apothecary / Druggist in Nashua New Hampshire from around 1850 until after the turn of the century. His business was on Main Street until 1885, then in 1889, his "E.S. Russell & Co." was located at 13 Water. From 1868 until 1881, his partner was John J. Whitmore. Both the Hair Dye and the Castanaine were advertised at least as early as 1860 and at least as late as 1883. Note that according to the ad, Russell's business was established in 1840. I found a Directory listing of Russell in 1843, as a "Clerk," but it probably wasn't his own business yet. Products: Castanaine Liquid Hair Dye |
