Arthur Rhodes was in business in Lowell, Mass. around the turn of the century. "Rhode's Eau De Quinine" was listed for sale in 1896 and 1901 Morrison & Plummer catalogs. In 1900 issues of "The Gentlewoman," Rhodes advertised his "Dandruff Cure" and "Astringent Hair Lotion." Fike said the Dandruff Cure and Hair Lotion were for sale as late as 1935, and the Hair Tonic was still advertised in 1948. The "Rejuvenator" was still being advertised in 1922.
