A. Wilhard Johnson, of Salina Kansas, registered this brand name as a trademark in 1884. The label shown was given as an example of how the trademark was used. It is a representation of an old man riding a musk-ox, with a bottle in his hand, which is raised over his head; there is a crown floating above him, and grape vines on either side. Johnson claimed to have been selling the brand since earlier the same year.
