Dr. D. Stearns White started out in Flandreau, South Dakota and later he moved his offices to Chicago, IL. He probably got started in business in the late 1880s or early 1890s. His Chicago offices were at 754 West Van Buren Street. His other products included A dressing, soap, and a brush, all of which were required as part of the treatment (View ad from pamphlet.). The pamphlet that came with the treatment is fantastic (Enter). It goes into all kinds of detail about the "Parasitic growth causing hair to fall out."
White's New Hair Grower, Shampoo, and Dressing were all for sale in 1896 and 1901 Morrison & Plummer catalogs. By 1901, the products also included: "Whites Dandruff Cure."
