| In the 1912 New York City Directory, the Recamier Hair Dressing Co. was located at 73 Union, Flush. This preparation was also discussed in an 1891 issue of the Illustrated American magazine. In that article it says the Proprietor was Mrs. Harriet Hubbard Ayer. I found Recamier products listed in the Meyer Brothers Druggist magazine of 1899. At that time there was: Recamier New Life For The Hair, numbers 1 and 2. The number 2 had a larger bottle variant listed. There was also a Recamier Depilatory.
