| Dr. John S. Pemberton, of Atlanta, Georgia, registered this label in 1884. According to O'Dell, he was also the inventor of Coca-Cola. O'Dell had a picture of the box in his book. He said Pemberton was born in Knoxville, Georgia in 1831. Apparently he had numerous business ventures. I found the product listed for sale in the 1885 McKesson & Robbins catalog. An 1869 ad in the Atlanta Constitution said that Pemberton (formerly of Columbus, GA) was now part of Pemberton, Wilson, Taylor & Co. |
