Mason's Magic Hair Dye
This bottle was originally marketed by C. S. Mason, Hairdresser, 73 Hanover Street, Boston. An advertisement in July of 1865 indicated that by that time this product was being marketed by Demas Barnes & Co., New York. It was still listed for sale in the 1901 Morrison & Plummer catalog. An 1880 ad (view) said that the Dye was manufactured by F.D. Booth, whose business was at 620 Main St., in St Louis. It is very possible that there were two different Mason's Magic Hair Dyes. As you can see from the box below, the one sold by F. D. Booth was still being sold past 1906.
