In the 1891 Worcester Mass. Directory, a product called "Marvel or Vital Hair Food" was advertised. In 91 Henry S. Bacon was the Agent for both this product, and the New England Livestock Insurance Co. By 1893, Bacon was listed only in connection with the Thereon Mfg. Co. At that time he was selling a whole line of "People's Remedies" including "Marvel, The Hair Grower." By 1895, The Theron Mfg. Co. was no longer listed, and Bacon was listed with a residence only. Marvel Hair Tonic was still listed for sale in the 1901 Morrison & Plummer catalog. The following ad was transcribed from an 1891 Worcester, Mass. Directory.
