Lyon's Kozothium
This product was sold by Virgil H. Lyon of Indianapolis, IN. He was born in about 1836. He married Lucinda Jackson in 1858. He was a well-known Union soldier who made it to the rank of Lt. Colonel by 1864. He died in 1879.

The bottle is a patented design of his own (#139905). It had two corks in it, so that the contents could be kept in two compartments until opened (see drawing). He probably designed the bottle specifically for this product.

Apparently, someone with the last name Keifer took over the business after Lyon's death. The label indicates that by then they had changed the bottle/cork design somewhat. The product was for sale at least as early as 1880 and at least as late as 1911.
