There were a bunch of Lipmans and Lippmans in San Francisco in the 1800s who were Barbers. Of them, there were a couple of Josephs, and a James. They all seemed tohave immigrated from Austria. I have been unable to determine which one of these, if any was the proprietor of these articles. See Lipman's Hair Restorer.
