Keyou's Crinogen
John M. Keyou & Son (William A.) registered the word "Crinogen" as a trademark for a "Hair Restorative" in 1878. The label shown was included with his trademark Petition as an example of how he used the trademark. They were from Medford, Mass., and claimed to have been using the brand name since 1877. I found Keyou listed as a Hair Dresser in Medford starting in 1872. In the 1880 census, John was listed as "Hairdresser" and William was listed as "Hair Restorer."
