Joseph Hoyt was selling this preparation at least as early as 1859. I've seen a flyer for the product with testimonials dated that year. The same flyer indicated that at that time the manufactory was located in Providence, R.I. I'm pretty sure there was a pontiled variant of the bottle. If so, he would have been selling it a few years earlier. The product was for sale at least as late as 1885.

This bottle is very rare and quite peculiar.
