Grebe's Sage Hair Tonic
Conrad Grebe, of Philadelphia, Penn., registered the label shown for this brand in 1884. He was a Barber from 1883 until after the turn of the century. Starting in 1885, his son, Conrad Grebe Jr. was also in business with him. Their business was originally on Chestnut Street, and by 1896, they were located in the Philadelphia Bourse. Over the years, the father & son team often had more than one location, and several times, the son ran other businesses such as "Gents Furnishings," and "Segars." After 1900, only one of the two was listed, and two female family members (Elizabeth and Addie) entered the business.
