| H.D. Wagner & Co., of Grinnell, Iowa, registered the word "Globe" with the symbols shown, as a Trade Mark for a "Hair Restorative & Dandruff Cure" in 1892 (TM #21,442). Wagner indicated that they had used the Trade Mark since earlier the same year. I found H.D. Wagner & Co. (Charles E. Brown) listed for several years, but they were only in the medicine business in 1893. In 1892 they were listed as "Pump Manufacturers," and from 95 through 98, their business was "Carriages." Brown was the Manager of the business in 1892, and he apparently took over the company soon after that. By 1899, he had started the Globe Manufacturing Co. in Des Moines. Coincidentally, there was a C.M. Brown, in Grinnell Iowa, who registered a "Eureka Hair Restorative" earlier in 1892 (see Eureka). They were in business at least as late as 1916, but by that time S. Cahn was listed as the President. The following ad was transcribed from the 1893 Iowa State Gazeteer. is sold under the following positive guarantee.
