This was one of the products of Daniel Stewart, of Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a Wholesale and Retail Druggist there in the 1800s. He claimed to have established his business in 1840. I found him listed in Greensburgh Indiana in 1850. Starting in 1870, he was listed in Indianapolis. Stewart was born in 1824 and died in 1892. I do not know who took over the company after his death. The advertisements for hair products that I've found have all been from after his death.
There was also an Opal Egg Shampoo and other toilet preparations. The bottle with the glass stopper was probably a toilet water. Picture of the #1 variant courtesy of Ron Feldhaus.
