| According to Fike, Marcellus Dimmitt was a St Louis "Wholesale & Retail Dealer in Drugs , Patent Medicines, and Chemicals, Etc." His business started in 1864, and became M. Dimmitt and Bro. in 1870. After 1874, they were unlisted in St Louis. During the 1870 to 1874 period, Dimmitt was associated with Robert S. Hale. M. Dimmitt produced a cough balsam which was advertised in 1869. No definite connection has been made between him and the Capillaria.
