George W. Kirk, of Philadelphia, registered this brand name as a trademark in 1889. He said he had just started selling the brand that year. The label shown says: "The Dandy Hair Tonic," but other variants with the same picture said "The Dandy Tooth Powder," and "The Dandy Toilet Powder" on them. The lady in the picture is holding a bottle in one hand, and a powder-box in the other.
