| Azariah Connelly, of New York City, registered the brand name "Connelly's Salvation For The Hair" as a trademark for a "Hair Dye" in 1877. He included the label shown as an example of how he was using the trademark. He claimed to have just started selling the brand name the previous year. His business was located at 350 Bowery in 1877.
