Thomas Birdsall was listed in New York City as a Perfumer starting in 1854. His business was located at 124 1/2 Grand. By 58, he & his son (Charles) were in the "Hair Dye" business at 479 8th Ave. He continued to be listed until 1865, but the Directories don't list his occupation during those years.
