Begg's Hair Renewer
According to the Wilsons, in 1884 Doctor F.M. Beggs of Elk Point South Dakota formed a partnership with E.C. Dewitt of Sioux City Iowa. They made Begg's Diarrhoea Balsam and Begg's Cherry Cough Syrup. The embossing on the cough medicine bottle looks just like the embossing on the Hair Renewer bottle I think that they were most likely the Proprietors.

Chicago City Directories for 1888 show Charles W. Beggs and Elmer C. Dewitt in business together at 195 Michigan. I am not sure of the relationship between F.M. and Charles W. Beggs. By 1898, the listing had changed to Beggs Mfg Co., with Charles the Secretary, and Charles Jr. a Salesman. Devner listed Charles W. Beggs as being the proprietor of the Hair Renewer.

I found both the "Beggs' Hair Renewer" and "Beggs' Nonpareil Hair Curler" listed for sale in the 1896 Morrison & Plummer catalog. The Renewer was advertised from 1891 until 1901. The Beggs' Hair Renewer bottle looks like the early Ayer's Hair Vigor bottles, but it's embossed.
